The Standing Committee
This Committee consists of four priests of the Diocese, and four lay persons and serves as a council of advice to the Bishop. In times that a bishop is absent, the Standing committee assumes the ecclesiastical authority for the Diocese. The Standing Committee has other responsibilities regarding the buying and selling of property by parishes, granting consents for episcopal elections in other dioceses and other duties as identified by General Convention.
The Diocesan Board (Trustees of the Diocese)
The Diocesan Board is the policy-making organization of the Diocese. The Board helps the Bishop articulate the mission of the Diocese, formulate strategies to carry out that mission and is responsible for all programmatic activities of the Diocese. As Trustees of the Diocesan Corporations, the Board holds the title to Diocesan funds and property and is responsible for investments.

Finance & Investment Committee
Reviews the finances of the Diocese, recommends to the Board a draft budget and deals with a variety of other financial policy issues. This Committee is also responsible for the parish and Diocesan financial assets invested in Central Investment Funds No. 2 and No. 3. Foundation of the Diocese
The Foundation of the Diocese exists to foster, develop and contribute to the religious, educational and charitable work by making gifts, grants, loans and advances for religious, educational and charitable purposes to any organization, institution, agency or other body functioning within the Church and the Diocese. Foundation Screening & Review Committee
Screening & Review makes recommendations to the Foundation regarding loans and grants.
Safe Church Committee
This Committee provides training on safe church practices throughout the Diocese. It is also responsible for activating a response team if needed. (Please see Safe Church policies and procedures under the Ministry page on this website)
Property Committee
The Property Committee is responsible for the care, custody and management of all real property owned by the Diocese.
Ecclesiastical Court
As required by Episcopal Church canons, to provide a court if needed.
Ministry Grant Committee
To review and approve grant requests based on the six strategic initiatives identified by the Diocese through the Strategic Change Summit process. (You can download Ministry Grant application forms from this website on the Ministry page)

Archivists assess, inventory and conserve the records of the clergy and people of the Diocese.
Canterbury Way
Canterbury Way is a form of Anglican collegial spirituality in which clergy or lay people forma community and follow a Rule to enrich, nurture and strengthen them in their ministries and daily lives.
Church Periodical Club (ECW)
This ministry is dedicated solely to providing free literature and related materials, both religious and secular, to people all over the world.
Commission on Ministry
The Commission works to strengthen the ordained and lay ministry with emphasis on persons in an ordination process and continuing education for clergy and laity.
Companion Diocese Committee: Diocese of El Salvador
Encourages and enhances communications and joint ministries between the Diocese of El Salvador and the Diocese of Central New York.
Cornell, Foundation at the Episcopal Church at
The Foundation is the legal corporation which is able to maintain record and negotiate the finances and real estate for the Episcopal Church at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY.
Cursillo
Teams offer long weekend retreats as “a short course in Christian living.”
Ecumenical & InterReligious Commission
This Commission promotes understanding and participation between a variety of expressions of faith.
Education for Ministry
EfM is a program for theological education for lay people from St. Luke’s School of Theology of the University of the South.
Episcopal Church Women’s Ministries Board (ECW)
Enables communication among women in parishes, the Diocese and the world.
Episcopal Fund for Human Needs (EFHN)
Administers funds for emergency needs which cannot be met from other sources of aid, arising among people who live in the Diocese of Central New York. (To learn more about EFHN and download an application from this website go to the Ministry page)
Episcopal Relief & Development (ER&D)
Donations to the national ERD provide emergency assistance in times of disaster; rebuilds devastated communities and offers long-term program development solutions to fight poverty.
Fresh Start Task Force
Provides training workshops for clergy in new calls to share ideas and experiences on everything from pastoral care to vestry meetings to provide support and build community among clergy peers.
Global Missions Committee
Encourages and enhances communications and joint ministries between the Diocese of Central New York and Anglican communities throughout the world.
Happening Committee
A youth renewal gathering, Happening weekends are open to high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. The Happening Committee plans, organizes and runs these gatherings.
Justice, Peace and the Integrity of Creation (JPIC)
JPIC ministries equip Episcopalians to carry out the promise made in their Baptismal Covenant to "strive for peace and justice and respect the dignity of every human being."
Jubilee Ministries
Jubilee Ministries is the grassroots organizing principle for hands-on local community outreach. Jubilee Centers are engaged in mission and ministry among and with poor and oppressed people. Each program comes out of the history of its community. There are seven Jubilee Centers in the Diocese of Central New York.
Liturgy & Music Commission
This Commission is responsible for planning the music and liturgy for diocesan services and programs for clergy and laity.
St. Paul’s Cathedral Major Chapter
Enhances the role of the Cathedral of St. Paul’s in the Diocese and serves as a council of advice and assistance to the Dean and Bishop.
United Thank Offering
Enables parishes to participate in the national Church UTO in-gatherings. The UTO is a spiritual and financial partner in the mission work of The Episcopal Church, awarding grants for projects and programs that address compelling human need and expand the mission and ministry of the church.
